Biography

Will Cooley is a percussionist and music educator residing in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area where he currently serves as the percussion director for Red Oak High School. Prior to his current position, Will served as the drumline instructor/arranger for the Northwestern University Marching “Wildcat” Band, the percussion director for Adlai E. Stevenson High School, and the assistant percussion director for Colleyville-Heritage High School.

An accomplished orchestral musician, Will has performed with numerous professional orchestras including the Boulder Philharmonic, the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra, and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. As a freelance drumset musician, Will has performed with a variety of artists including the Nite-Hawks, Eric Willis, Freddy Jones, and for the nationally-distributed recordings by the Alfred Publishing Company. In addition to Will’s orchestral and drumset experience, he is also a versatile percussionist familiar with contemporary, jazz, and world percussion techniques. Will has performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention and the First International Percussion Festival in Costa Rica.

Will holds a Master’s degree in Percussion Performance from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
